What an Infrared Sauna Really Provides

The name infrared sauna can be a bit confusing at first. All it means is that the sauna uses infrared technology for heat. This tech offers quite a few health benefits that other heating options simply don’t. Here at Health Mate Sauna, we have our own patented infrared technology, called “Tecoloy.” We created it because we don’t want to settle for someone else’s work. Instead of mirroring someone else’s technology, we wanted to make our own that lived up to our own standards. After seeing what was out there, we created Tecoloy to be the very best on the market.

“Food Heat Lamps”

It might be a bit hard to believe, but that’s actually what many home saunas use for heat. Really. That’s the name: “food heat lamps.” As you might imagine, these are the same lamps that heat food when you go out to a store or restaurant. You are not a gas station hot dog, so you should not be heated by a food heat lamp. Moreover, as the name implies, these food heat lamps are hot. In fact, they can get as hot as 400 degrees. Your body doesn’t want to touch anything that’s 400 degrees. So, we make sure that our spas use infrared tech that provides you with plenty of heat while never getting that hot. The last thing anyone would ever want is to get into a spa and come out with second or third-degree burns.

How an Infrared Sauna Works

When you get into a sauna, you want to sweat. This provides a wealth of health benefits. You want to sweat, but you want to sweat the right way. We built our saunas to make you sweat as much as possible with as few negative side effects as possible. That’s why our saunas have such an extremely low amount of potentially harmful EMFs. On top of that, the Tecoloy tech in our saunas provides high-density heat that gets you sweating quickly. It does that not by producing the most heat, but by generating the right amount of microns.

Microns and the Body

Your body generates a range of waves anywhere between six to twenty microns. Our Tecoloy M series, by comparison, accomplishes 9.4 microns at both the mid and far-infrared regions. Without delving too deeply into the science of it, that means that your body will be able to sweat that much faster. You won’t have to sit in the sauna forever and ever, just to get a sweat going. From the moment you step into our sauna, you’ll feel that sweat start to build.
